Tech Support Olympiad (TSO)

Competition Overview

The Tech Support Olympiad (TSO) showcases students’ technical skills and knowledge at EAST Conference. Over the years, this competition has evolved into a multi-round competition that includes a series of online rounds leading to a final on-site competition at Conference. So if you like technology and competition, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

How It Works

  1. Qualifying Round (Online)

    • All contestants will begin by participating in an online qualifying round
    • Only those students who successfully complete this challenge will earn their spot in the next phase of the competition. Students who fail to complete the qualifying round will NOT be able to participate in future rounds.
  2. Second Round (Online)

    • Students who complete the qualifier will face additional puzzles and technical challenges.
    • Scores will be based on accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  3. Final Round (On-Site at EAST Conference)

    • The top five scoring students from the Second Round will qualify for the final, in-person competition held at EAST Conference.
    • Each program is allowed one representative in the final round. If more than one student from a single program finishes in the top five, the highest-scoring student from that program will be selected.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • This competition is for individuals only. No groups or group work is allowed.
  • Each round has a set deadline, and late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Finalists may not be a member of the 2025 EAST Technical Support Team.
  • EAST holds all rights to disqualify or penalize students suspected of cheating.
